The Building Knowledge pillar is preparing to undertake a discovery piece on knowledge sharing functions across the social care sector and beyond. The discovery intends to understand the systems and processes in place to share and retain knowledge to come to a collaborative decision on how the DiSC can facilitate the building of knowledge within the sector.
This discovery will include the identification of knowledge repositories, collections of case studies, examples of good practice and existing communities of practices already operating in the sector. It will seek to collate these into a landscape view of the functions for knowledge sharing within the sector and to help guide how this functions under the DiSC
Work will also be undertaken to evaluate these mechanisms and to map processes to understand their effectiveness and collect a summary of user needs from key stakeholders in the sector. An options appraisal will be created for the future of the DiSC knowledge sharing mechanisms going forward. Taking the full findings of the discovery into consideration to inform how a sector led knowledge sharing function should be operated.
