DiSC Cymru – Strengthening Collaboration Across Wales

22 March 2026

Disc Cymru

The DiSC Cymru partnership continues to build momentum as we work with councils and partners to improve digital transformation in social care. We are committed to strengthening the way we collaborate, communicate, and coordinate activity across the sector.

Strengthening Communication Channels

To support clearer, quicker, and more coordinated engagement, the DiSC Cymru team is currently identifying a named lead officer in each council.
This role will help:

  • Improve the flow of information between the DiSC Cymru team and each local authority
  • Speed up updates and decisions
  • Ensure smoother coordination of ongoing work
  • Support more consistent participation in DiSC Cymru networks and activities

This will help create a stronger, more joined‑up partnership across all 22 councils.

Workshops & Presentations – Ongoing Support for Councils

The DiSC Cymru team has been delivering workshops and presentations to digital and social care teams across Wales. These sessions:

  • Provide updates on DiSC Cymru’s work
  • Support local teams to understand opportunities within the partnership
  • Help councils embed DiSC themes into local digital and service‑improvement plans
  • Create a space for discussion and shared learning

These workshops are ongoing, and the offer remains open. Councils that have not yet scheduled a session—or wish to arrange a follow‑up—can contact the team to book.

Developing a Partnership Agreement

As part of strengthening the national approach, the team is progressing work on the DiSC Cymru Partnership Agreement, which sets out:

  • Shared commitments
  • Roles and expectations
  • The benefits of participating in the DiSC Cymru partnership
  • How partners will work together through transparent and proportionate governance arrangements

The draft agreement has recently been updated and shared with key partners for feedback, reflecting governance principles, partnership expectations, and the processes for entering into the agreement.

The partnership agreement will help ensure a consistent, transparent, and sector‑led approach to digital in social care across Wales.
